Krigger Refurb - FAQs and Answers

What is a Krigger Refurb?

Our approach to Krigger Refurb equipment is simple. We deliver a dependable product that in many ways is "like new" that we know will provide years of service for much less than buying new.

Only some equipment is even considered for our service department to begin the Krigger Refurb process:

When we receive a used piece of equipment here are several factors we consider.

1.       Is it worth fixing?

We see many pieces that simply put - have been abused.  Examples are lack of preventative maintenance and improper repair procedures throughout the life of the machine. Examples are chopped wire harnesses and neglected pins and bushings wearing into major frame components, these machines are typically sold “as is”, unless the cost for replacement of these worn out parts can be justified with the market value after completion of our work.

2.       Do we feel we can put a warranty behind it?

At Krigger we will not offer a Krigger Refurb machine if we can't back it up with our 90 day parts warranty.  High hour machines are not considered for refurbishment.

We are thorough in our inspection process. Here is a typical checklist of what we fix or replace.

● We take the time to thoroughly clean and touchup painted surfaces.
● We buff out blemishes and replace damaged/critical decals.
● We service/flush all filters and fluids with OEM products.
● We replace worn bearings, bushings and pins that will affect the production quality of the machine.
● We service and grind the cutting units (reels, bedknives, or rotary blades) to OEM specifications, or replace them when necessary.
● We ensure all safety devices are installed and functioning properly.
● We ensure there are no hydraulic leaks.
● We inspect and test the integrity of the wiring harnesses.
● We load test batteries and check charging system output.
● Tires and Reels will have 50% or better of wear remaining.
● All safety shields and covers are installed.
● System pressures are checked, and
● Operator and parts manuals provided (when available).

What is a Jacobsen CPO Equipment?

● Jacobsen started a similar program to our Krigger Refurb process which they call Certified Pre-Owned (CPO). This equipment has been fully refurbished at the factory and Jacobsen offers a 6 month manufacturer's warranty for parts and labor, followed by an additional 6 month parts-only warranty.

● The Jacobsen CPO program is similar to our Krigger Refurb in terms of operational quality.

There should be an expectation for maintenance and repair requirements by the customer when purchasing used equipment in an AS-IS condition.

What is a FULLY FUNCTIONAL Equipment?

If we determine that a used piece of equipment does not qualify for Krigger Refurb, but the unit is still in pretty good shape, we may elect to fully service the machine and sell it as FULLY FUNCTIONAL. Equipment in this classification is ready for immediate use as a fully functioning piece of used equipment.

● Fully Functional equipment will receive technical support from Krigger & Company for 45 days after delivery. If there is a major component failure on the machine during the first 45 days we will supply the part(s) at no charge, for the buyer to replace the parts themselves. In some cases we may also offer a reduced labor rate for service performed by our shop.

What is a As-Is Equipment?

If we determine that a used piece of equipment does not qualify for Krigger Refurb , either because too much repair is needed or the hours are too high, we will offer it for sale in an "As-Is" condition. Some "As-Is" equipment has been serviced for basic preventive maintenance with some new parts installed such as fluids, filters, bearings, bushings, belts, etc. This service work will typically be noted in the description of the item for sale. "As-Is" equipment is sold without warranty, however we understand there may be a reasonable expectation for performance at the time of purchase and we will work with you to address issues with the following guidelines:

● Equipment sold at 15%, or less, of the current MSRP for a new model should have NO EXPECTATION for Krigger & Company to support or service the equipment after delivery. Equipment sold at that price level, while it may or may not be functional at time of delivery, it is typically a machine that needs additional repair and maintenance by the buyer. This equipment has typically been in service for many years and hours of use already. Care and maintenance should be expected.

● Equipment sold at 15% to 25% of current MSRP will receive some minimal support from Krigger & Company for 30 to 45 days after delivery. If there is a major component failure on the machine during the first 30 to 45 days we will work with the buyer to supply the part(s) needed at a substantially discounted price, and sometimes at no charge, for the buyer to replace the parts themselves. In some cases we may also offer a reduced labor rate for serviced performed by our shop.

There should be an expectation for maintenance and repair requirements by the customer when purchasing used equipment in an AS-IS condition.
